1. New Android Features
The Android team has been working on a range of new features for apps, including messaging and photo editing tools. These features improve the apps: when messaging with friends or sending photos, iPhone users see emoji on text messages similar to how they appear on Android devices, all with new birthday reminders and grammar correction.
2. Twitter Launched Tor Website
Twitter launched a private Tor onion service so Russians can technically avoid their internet blocks.
Tor uses an encryption system and servers that are distributed throughout the world to create a secure and anonymous online system that has been helpful for everyday people in giving them freedom from censorship and protection from surveillance.
3. Telegram Added New Features
Telegram updated their apps with more features that allow sending and receiving files of any type up to 2 GB size, re-arranging media albums before sending, capturing images with the camera for quicker sending, previewing profiles in a browser without having to sign up, and live streaming with other applications.
4. Google Pauses Google Play Billing Systems for Russia
Due to payment system disruption, Google Play has paused its billing system for all users in Russia as of March 10, 2022. This means all users cannot purchase apps and games, make subscription payments or conduct any in-app purchases of digital goods using the Play Store in Russia until further notice. Free apps will remain available on the Play Store.
5. Uber Eats added a bill splitting feature
Uber Eats has new options for group ordering which allow people to order what they need and split the bill, allow checking out deadlines, as well as help remind people to place their orders.
